Fishing for salmon and trout on a 38 foot motor yacht is an experience that all can enjoy. 23 years experience and the latest in tackle almost always guarantees success. The method of fishing on Lake Michigan is motor trolling. On the Blue Max we troll with up to 14 rods.
The rates are the total charge for the boat, not per person. By US Coast Guard law, only six paying passengers are allowed per charter boat. If you have a group larger than six (which is very common), we'll take care of all the arrangements of getting you as many vessels as your group needs
As the boat moves through the water, the captain and customers set tackle to provide an artificial lure to the fish at all potential water depths. Rods are placed in holders as the boat moves through areas where fish have been located. To find our fish we use a fish finder, temperature gauge and data recorded from previous trips. As the fish strikes one of the lures, the rod is removed from the holder and the battle is on! After the fish is boated, rods are reset and we continue our trolling pattern.

We suggest you bring:
You will need a valid Wisconsin Fishing License and a salmon stamp. We sell a two day resident or nonresident license for $14 [no stamp required]. You can also purchase a salmon stamp for your annual resident license for $10. (No stamp is required on the daily license.) We do not sell resident annual licenses.
Our normal morning departure time is 6:00 am for 6 hour trips or 7:00 am for 5 hour trips., while afternoon trips leave at 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Times can also be arranged on an individual basis. Plan to be at the boat at least fifteen minutes before departure. Charters can accommodate one to six persons maximum.
Our policy on inclement weather is simple. Safety is our number one concern. We will fish in the rain in fact some of our best catches have been in the rain. There is a covered area for you to get out of the sun, rain and wind. When in the captain's opinion a safety concern presents itself before the trip, the captain will cancel the charter and refund your deposit. After the charter has left the dock at the captain's discretion for weather or safety a trip may be cancelled. In this scenario the money paid will be refunded based on the amount of time and expenses expired on the charter. I cannot refund the fishing license fees. No refund will be given for trips cancelled for excessive use of alcohol or any use of drugs.
